What's on in Stoke

Martock Job Club

The Job Club opened its doors in September 2012 as an independent resource to support local job seekers and employers in the Martock and surrounding parishes of South Petherton, Stoke Sub Hamdon, Ash, Long Load, Long Sutton, Norton and Kingsbury since then it has given advice to over 100 Job seekers.

Resources and Support

The Job club is very lucky to have 5 dedicated and experienced volunteers who collectively have knowledge and experience with starting and running their own businesses, marketing, design and strategy, training, recruiting/HR, housing and IT.

Most of our volunteers have themselves experienced redundancy or periods of unemployment, job seeking and the benefits system and know what this feels like. We are therefore empathetic to the challenges that people face during this time.

Job seekers have access and support to use the computers to search and apply for positions, help with writing their CV, filling in application forms, interview advice and preparation, signposting to training opportunities and providers. We strive to give job seekers the tools and support to be successful in securing employment.
